AP Computer Science Principles (604)

Level: AP
Length: full year
Credits: 4
Open to: grades 9-12
Prerequisites: none

Students don’t need an advanced understanding of coding; AP Computer Science Principles is an introductory-level course meant for all students.  AP CSP can help students understand how computing and technology shape the world around them - from smartphones and video games to music, medicine, and much more.  In AP CSP, students will work on their own and as part of a team to creatively address real-world issues using the tools and processes that artists, writers, computer scientists, and engineers use to bring ideas to life. Studying computer science will help students learn and grow by applying their ideas to create real solutions. The course will follow the College Board’s course content and will prepare students for the Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles exam.
