Plymouth County Outreach (PCO) is a collaboration of the 27 police departments in Plymouth County working together to make treatment accessible and offer support to those living with substance use disorder and their loved ones. They recently provided Narcan training to our school nurses and supplied each health office with additional Narcan, an overdose reversal treatment. The presentation was informative and will help our school nurses best support the community of Marshfield. PCO has many resources, provides judgement-free support and works to reduce overdose fatalities in Plymouth County. Help is available if you or a loved one are struggling with substance use disorder. October is bullying awareness month. To celebrate #unity students and staff were encouraged to wear orange to school. 🧡 With the help of students Grady and Rosie Woodard, Dr. Smith, Mrs. White, and Mrs. Burke -- FBMS 6th grade health teacher Mrs. Woodard hung orange ribbons with a message of kindness on the 6th grade lockers before students arrived to school. 🫶📝 #WeRMarshfield

Julie Stiles, School Nurse Educator at SRS, provided training and CPR instruction to the volunteer staff at South River School in order to build crisis response teams. Students in Mrs. Asmus's 6th grade science class used slinkies to visualize sound waves. The slinky represented air particles carrying the sound wave energy. They watched the energy get passed down the slinky as they gave it a quick jab, and saw the echo come back to them, too! Bet you never played with a slinky like this before! 🤔💭💚 #WeRMarshfield

Martinson Elementary School 5th graders took a field trip to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the US Senate. Students got to try out the part of “senators” debating in chambers. What a cool experience! ⚖️🤔 #WeRMarshfield

With your help, the MHS Gold Ribbon Club raised a total of $8,389.64 which will be donated directly to South Shore Action for Hope, a charity raising money for pediatric cancer research. 🎗💚🙌 Money was raised during Go Gold Week from the raffle, t-shirt sales, gold merch sales, and donations at all schools.
