The Superintendent Search Committee has sent 3 finalists to the School Committee for the position of Superintendent of Schools:
Ms. Sarah Shannon, Assistant Superintendent, Canton Public Schools
Dr. Patrick Sullivan, Superintendent, Cohasset Public Schools
Dr. David Thomson, Superintendent, Norwood Public Schools
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week, the District will hold a staff forum at 4PM and a parent/student/community forum at 6PM with each candidate individually, where folks can hear from the finalists directly and ask questions. These forums will be held at the MHS auditorium with the following schedule:
Dr. Sullivan: Tuesday 12/12
Dr. Thomson: Wednesday 12/13
Ms. Shannon: Thursday 12/14
We’re grateful to the Search Committee for their dedicated, diligent work since the start of November.
The School Committee will interview these candidates in a public session at 9AM on Saturday, December 16 at the Seth Ventress Building, 76 South River Street. A new Superintendent will be appointed and announced on Tuesday, December 19.

Earlier this week, families from across the district took part in our Elementary Family Math Night sponsored by Title I. 🤔💭📊 The evening event included pajamas, math stations, raffle prizes, cookies and milk, and a photo booth. The Toy Box donated some games, and the Ventress Memorial Library brought some great displays of books. A great time was had by all! 🤗 #WeRMarshfield

Daniel Webster Elementary School recently welcomed four K-9 Detection Dogs and their handlers:
• Officer Mike & Clint (Homeland Security)
• Officer Tony & Mary (Everette Police)
• Officer Dave & Oscar (Park Ranger Service)
• Officer Eric & Austin (ATF)
The officers taught us about the critical work the dogs do and how they work to keep us safe. After their demonstration, students got a chance to interact with each dog! 🐶👮 #WeRMarshfield
Thank you to Marshfield Education Foundation for funding the grant to provide Number Racks to all K-2 classrooms throughout the district. 🧮 On our recent Professional Development day, teachers had the chance to explore number racks and how this tool helps build students' number sense! 🤔💭 #WeRMarshfield
Earlier this week, members of the MHS DECA club visited Mrs. Gullekson's class at South River School to teach students about entrepreneurship. 🤝 DECA is an international business student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Students in Mrs. Gullekson's class put their creativity and innovation hats on and built prototypes for new products! 🤩💚 #WeRMarshfield
